We are happy to share that The Huffington Post has integrated Glue for Books across their site and have become our newest publishing partner.

Recently launched, the implementation enables The Huffington Post to provide readers with a richer browsing experience.

At the bottom of every article in The Huffington Post’s new book section readers will find a widget with books related to the article’s author.

A Glue Tooltip appears when a book’s cover is clicked. The tooltip provides a way to experience and explore the book on The Huffington Post and other top book sites across the web.

There are 5 content rich tabs within the tooltip. The main tab includes the book’s title, author, summary and social information. Secondary tabs include links to purchase the book, a way to browse inside the book, in-place Amazon reviews, and share options for Facebook and Twitter.

We are pleased to call such a fast growing publisher a partner and have enjoyed working with the team at The Huffington Post on this implementation.

We look forward to providing their readers with a better experience via the Glue Book Widgets.

We’re pleased to announce that as of today new Glue tooltips are integrated into all of our widgets across the web.

More than 30,000 Glue widgets are live on more than 10,000 blog and major publishing partner sites, including Random House, NY Times, Hearst properties, O’Reilly Media, and hundreds of bestselling authors from all major book publishers.

The new tooltips expand the Glue network and increase user experience, conversion, and time-on-site for our partners.

The main tab of the tooltip is complimented by category specific secondary tabs. For example, book tooltips provide a way to browse inside of the book, links to purchase the book, and in-place Amazon reviews. Movie tooltips provide an in-place trailer, Rotten Tomatos summary and links to purchase or rent the movie.

The tooltips are integrated into book widgets, popular widgets and Glue for your blog.

Today we are excited to announce that the Glue network is coming to blogs. SmartLinks enable Glue on book, movie, and music links, and Glue Widgets bring Glue to your sidebar.

SmartLinks: Glue your Links.

tooltip-0427SmartLinks are automatically inserted in your blog posts when you link to books on popular book sites, such as Amazon or B&N. Here’s an example: book link

See the icon that appears to the right of the link? Placing your mouse over the icon will show you a tooltip with people who have interacted with the book.

From the tooltip you can access additional Glue information:

  • Conversations: See the people and conversations around the book.
  • Summary: See a full summary of the book and a large image.
  • Actions: Access information about the book from across the web.

SmartLinks are available for all popular blog platforms at http://www.adaptiveblue.com/smartlinks.

Widget: Glue your Sidebar.

The new widgets bring the Glue network directly to your blog. Each widget includes a number of SmartLinks that individuals can interact with.

Currently, people who already have AdaptiveBlue Widgets installed will enjoy the Glue network appearing when visitors interact with their widget. If you’re an author or book blogger and would like a Glue book widget please contact us directly. We’re working on making it possible to create widgets directly from the browser add-on. If you have any suggestions on this please let us know!

To celebrate Glue for Blogs we’re giving away a free KINDLE 2! See this blog post for complete information.
