The Week That Was: Author Addition

by Fraser on February 1, 2008 · Comments

What a great week - one that was capped off with a huge tech announcement. No, not the news that Microsoft has put in an offer for Yahoo. No, no. I’m referring to the release of the new BlueOrganizer private beta :) queitly rolled out to a select few. Want in? Drop me an email.

The week was great because a number of authors added our book widget to their site to help promote their work across blogs and the greater web. Welcome everyone! We’re so happy to be able to help you market across the web.

David Hewson added our book widget to promote his popular Nic Costa series of books. His latest, The Garden of Evil, is available for preorder from Amazon and is eagerly anticipated by his fans. David’s a great guy and has been extremely helpful on many fronts - thank you David!

Georganna, over at A Writer’s Edge, highlighted just how useful the technology is for authors. Summarizing most peoples experiences with the technology the first time they interact with it, Georganna writes, “prepare yourself to be amazed, confused, and perhaps overwhelmed at first. The versatility of this technology blows me away!” Georganna, thanks for telling the world just how great our book widgets are for authors!

Patricia Storms is a talented illustrator (and a fellow Canadian!) who is using our book widgets to promote both the book that she’s authored as well as the books that she’s illustrated. Patricia has been great and has worked with us to tweak the widget to look the best it can in her sidebar (I do think it looks great now!).

Here’s a widget highlighting four books that Patricia has illustrated:

Raymond Benson, who has written some books that I’ve personally loved, is using our book widget to add a dynamic element to his homepage and highlight his wide ranging library of work.

Thank you to everyone for making this week great. If you’re an author looking to promote your work online drop us an email - we’ll gladly make you a book widget for your work!
