Your Relevant Online Presences From Around the Web. All in One Place.

I suspect that many of you are like me: you have your online presence spread out across a tonne of internet services: Facebook, Twitter, MyBlogLog, Linked In, Lijit, and the like…

As a blogger, there’s a challenge to connect your readers to all of your online presences in an efficient and clean way that fits within the design of your blog and doesn’t consume too much screen real estate.

Solution: SmartLinks for people.

Bloggers are starting to use SmartLinks as a simple ‘about’ section on their site, cleanly providing a thumbnail, a brief bio, and links to their various online presences. All within a single SmartLink.

Check out how clean and simply Ross makes use of a SmartLink.

This:

Provides access to all of this information:

Howard’s able to share a bio and links to all of his online presences:

by including a single SmartLink:

[I liked this idea so much that I've implemented it on my own site.]

To get a SmartLink like these for your blog:

  • Navigate to your own profile on Facebook or LinkedIn
  • Select Create SmartLink from BlueOrganizer
  • Paste the code into your blog
  • Enjoy that so much information is displayed so cleanly

Hey I went to my LinkedIn profile but I couldn’t find anywhere that said SmartLink or BlueOrganizer. I would like to use but I seem to be missing some key thing. Any help?

@1 - You need to have BlueOrganizer installed. This will put a button in your Firefox toolbar from which drops down a menu containing Create a SmartLink.
