Heads up, Truebies and Makers: GetGlue is now partnering with HBO for more than just awesome stickers for True Blood fans. Now you can use your status on GetGlue to get discounts at the HBO online store for show-related items from True Blood DVDs to Charlaine Harris books to a replica of Eric’s bullet necklace (sadly, Eric not included).
There is a 15% discount for Fans (Truebies) and a 20% discount for Superfans (Makers). As if being Guru weren’t cool enough already, the Guru of True Blood will earn a $50 gift card for his or her enviable status, being the most knowledgeable fan of the show as voted on by his or her fellow users.
Even if you’re new to the show and haven’t reached Truebie status yet, simply being a GetGlue user will earn you 10% off at the HBO store for True Blood items so you too can get hooked on the addictive vampire drama. To earn your Truebie and Maker stickers (and increase your discount), check-in to True Blood via our apps or the website.
If you already have the show on DVD, don’t worry: there’s plenty of covetable swag at the HBO store. True Blood may not be good enough for Jessica, but you can get your own 24 pack of the blood (orange) beverage. You can dress up as Sookie with a Merlotte’s tee and apron. Or you can relive past glory à la Jason Stackhouse with the Bon Temps football T-shirt.
This is our first discount launch, and we’re excited about even more partnership announcements that will follow in coming weeks. You can check-in through our apps or the website, but the discounts are currently available only on GetGlue.com. However, with the coming updates, they will be available on iPhone, Android, iPad, and other apps.
