We are pushing out updates to the SmartLinks Panes. The book, music and movie ones are already out. The new layout is designed to give you more relevant shortcuts in the same space. Here is the new book pane for Bourne Ultimatum :
The left column is dedicated to the book itself, it gives you links to the book on popular book sites. On the bottom there is a SAVE icon bar which helps you add this book to your Amazon Wishlist, Social Networks, Facebook and del.icio.us. The right column features links to related information. You can read reviews, compare prices and find similar books. On the bottom right you get shortcuts to the books by the same author.
As you can see, this new layout packs more shortcuts in the same space without introducing clutter. The movie, music and the coming SmartLink panes for other things are designed in a similar way. Here is the new movie pane for Babel :
With this new structure, you will always get object-specific shortcuts on the left. Also on the left you will get the icon bar to save the object to a set of contextually relevant places. The right column will give you related links and links to the attributes of the object. Here is the new music pane for the latest Dave Matthews Album :

Wow that is hot! I like how there’s so many options/links packed into one area, but is still easy to read and follow.
We tweaked the sites we include in these panes to better include the best sites for each type of objects. If you have some other great sites you’d like to see included in these panes, please let us know.
