Today, we’re launching new features on GetGlue.com: a new homepage and improved search.
New Homepage: Streams, Leaderboard, & Popular
When you visit your GetGlue.com homepage, you’ll see a new set of three tabs.
Streams
The Streams tab presents a river of activity on Glue, that’s filtered by toggles. Public Stream shows the likes, dislikes and comments from all Glue users. My Stream shows activity from people you’ve subscribed to. Suggestions Stream shows the items that are suggested based on your tastes. Chicklets show the number of new entries in each filtered stream.
Leaderboard
The Leaderboard highlights top users across Glue and within each category. The scores are based on the past seven days and refresh nightly. Different actions are worth a different amount of points - the deeper the interaction, the greater the points. Included in the leaderboard is user info, the score, and the trend of the ranking.
The leaderboard provides a way to identify how close you are to the vaunted Top User sticker. Good luck!
Popular
The Popular tab provides a way to see the most popular items on Glue and within each category. Scores are based on activity from the past seven days and refresh nightly - check back daily to see what’s currently hot.
Popular is an easy way to find hot new things, and to quickly personalize your taste profile on Glue.
Improved Search
A new feature of search is the ability to see similar objects related to the item in the search results
This feature helps with discovery - quickly find items related to a loved movie or book. Similar within search also provides a way to quickly personalize your taste profile.
Other improvements that deliver a big impact include: (i) the ranking of categories, based on relevance; (ii) secondary characteristics being returned with the object (such as the album’s artist); (iii) the ability to constrain a search to a specific vertical.
