Hey, everyone Happy New Year! We hope that you had a great holiday season ;)
AdaptiveBlue crew took time off as well, but you know since we are a startup its hard to just entire stay off the grid. We’ve been working on a lot of exciting improvements and new features and want to start sharing with you what is coming out in the next version of Glue.
1. Slimmer Glue Bar
Many of you have asked us to make the Glue bar more compact, and so we spent hours figuring our how to make the Glue bar slimmer without you having to squint. In the next version both object and person Glue bar will be 25% slimmer, which feels might lighter and also allows us to display more information.
In addition, we made some modifications to the layout. Your avatar is going to appear next to the Like and 2Cents buttons, make it easier for you to associate the actions of Liking and adding 2Cents.
2. Improved Sharing
Another request that we’ve got from you is to make it easier to post your 2Cents to Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and other social services. In the current version of Glue you can Share by launching the actions tab and then selecting a service that you’d like to post to. In the coming version of Glue you will be able to do it right from the 2Cents box:

The implementation supports both sharing via popular service and email. By default each of these sections is collapsed and can be expanded using a toggle. When you decide to share your 2cents, say on Twitter, you expand Post section and then press Twitter button. And actually, you are not limited to selecting one service, you can select several ones at the same time. Once you click Submit your 2cents will be posted to all the services you selected.
3. Improved Following
We’ve been also working on making it easier for you to find people to follow and to invite your friends to Glue. In addition to enabling you to automatically follow your Facebook and Twitter friends, in the next version of Glue you will be able to automatically follow your friends from several popular email services, including GMail and Yahoo! Mail. So whenever new friends join Glue you will be automatically connected.

In addition to that, we are going to make it easier for you to find users who are active in each category. When you open the Find People to Follow screen, you will see lists of top users in each category, depending on your interests. For example, if you like Books, Music and Wine the most, you will see top users in each of these categories. The lists are updated based on the user activity, so you will always have a fresh list of interesting people to follow.
Thanks for all your help & feedback and please stay tuned for this release. We look forward to building Glue together in 2009!
